Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Raqib: Jurnal Studi Islam undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

The review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team evaluates the submitted manuscript to ensure its conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, author guidelines, academic writing standards, and ethical policies. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected or returned for revision before peer review.

  2. Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality and academic integrity.

  3. Peer Review Process
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s topic. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodology, theoretical contribution, clarity of analysis, and relevance to Islamic studies.

  4. Review Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide to:

    • Accept the manuscript without revision,

    • Accept with minor revisions,

    • Request major revisions, or

    • Reject the manuscript.

  5. Revision Stage
Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by reviewers if necessary.

  6. Final Decision and Publication
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding publication based on the review results and editorial consideration. Accepted manuscripts will proceed to copyediting, layout editing, and publication.

The journal is committed to ensuring a fair, objective, and transparent review process to uphold the quality and integrity of academic publishing.
